About the Guild

The Weavers Guild was organized in 1954 and incorporated in 1984 to promote weaving, spinning and the fiber arts. Monthly meetings include guest speakers, exhibits of current work, fashion shows, and workshops that teach basic and advanced fiber arts techniques. Members are active giving demonstrations at the American Royal, area schools, local fairs, festivals, and to the general public. Membership includes members of all areas and levels of interest in the fiber arts.

The Guild co-sponsors The Creative Hand Art Show and Sale annually, in conjunction with the Fiber Guild of Greater Kansas City. The Guild also participates in the Kansas Alliance of Weavers and Spinners (KAWS). Guild members also select a service project to complete each year, as well as donating funds to charities like Heifer International.
