We Meet Monthly 

We meet monthly on the second Thursday at 10 a.m. at Westwood City Hall, 4700 Rainbow, Westwood, KS.

A different program is presented at each meeting and designed to broaden our artistic skills and enrich our creative efforts.

February

  • Convergence 2022 recap by Sandy Cahill, Barrie Mason, Chris Hunsburger

March

  • Needle felting presentation by Fiber Guild member Anna Walker. Anna needle felts and wet felts items of beauty and enjoys enormous pleasure in introducing people to the joy of felting

April

  • Field trip to Kansas City Art Institute Fiber Art Department tour and student presentation. Details forthcoming

May

  • Temari ball history and technique presentation by Guild member Lolly Buxton

June

  • Guild member, Janet Meddings will show us how to make a copper pipe loom for tapestry weaving for about $20

July

  • Swedish rag rug presentation by Guild member Kate Webb who received a Guild scholarship for her coursework

August

  • We are looking into a field trip to the Silk Museum in Weston, MO. Stay tuned for more details

  • Board member nominating committee is formed

September

  • We will tour a fiber art installation at the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art. The Kemper's annual Atrium Project commission will feature a large-scale installation by New York-based artist Sarah Zapata who creates vibrant installations using a combination of textile techniques that engage her Texan and Peruvian cultural traditions.
